At the SPCA of Texas, we welcome teen volunteers who are passionate about helping animals and making a difference in their community. The SPCA of Texas is committed to helping North Texas’ most vulnerable animals. By volunteering, teens gain valuable experience, make new friends, and directly impact the well-being of pets and families in our community.

Teens aged 15 and older can volunteer independently, while those 14 and under can volunteer with a parent or guardian (18+). There are a variety of ways for teens to get involved, including:

  • Animal Care & Adoptions – Help provide enrichment for shelter pets, assist with cleaning, and support our adoption events to help animals find loving homes.

  • Community Support – Get involved in outreach programs that help families keep their pets through food pantries, education, and low-cost veterinary services.

  • Mobile Adoptions & Special Events – We host mobile adoption events almost every weekend, bringing adoptable pets into the community to find homes.

STAR (Students Tackle Abusive Relationships) was founded to give teens in Dallas a chance to come together in support of the Genesis mission. We believe that the younger we are when we become involved in bettering the world around, the more opportunities we have to lead a fulfilling and positive life. STAR gives students the chance to teach others around them the importance of domestic violence awareness, particularly surrounding teen dating violence.

Students can also donate anytime or create donation drives.
