Botanical Garden
Gallery Host, Rory Myers’s Children Adventure Garden
(Available: September & October)
Shift Times:
Fridays: 10:00 – 2:00 PM
Sundays: 10:00-2:00 PM
The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden is our 8-acre “Museum without Walls.” As a Gallery Host in the Children’s Garden, volunteers will enhance guest experience by assisting guests with the various hands-on, STEM-focused learning activities within their respective gallery. Children’s Garden galleries include: Plants are Alive, exploring different types of plants and plant life cycles; Pure Energy, focusing on the underlying mechanisms of power generation via wind, water, and solar resources. Earth Cycles, an exhibit introducing the topics of weathering, erosion, plate tectonics, and our solar system. In total, there are 15 galleries that comprise the Children’s Garden.
Note: To best accommodate the needs of our Education staff, groups may not exceed 15 individuals per shift.
Christmas Village
(Available: November 12th- January 4th)
Shift Times: M-Sun. 5:30 – 10:00 PM
Volunteer as a Village Host in our Bavarian-themed, Christmas Village. Hosts will be stationed to one of the 14 holiday-themed houses within the village, distributing festive prizes and assisting with the Holiday Scavenger Hunt.
